APRIL produced some fantastic songs. This playlist includes 26 bangers. In fact, it was tough to bring it down to only five. Some artists whose songs did not make the cut are JP Cooper, Lady Gaga, and one of my personal favourite musicians, John Mayer. The top 5 feature both new and established artists - including two members of One Direction.

5. Deliverance - RATIONALE

This is Rationale's latest single. The first time I head this song was at his London show last January. It's an electropop ballad that shows off his vocals. I've been a fan of Rationale for a while now and so far I have not been left disappointed.

4. Sign of the Times - HARRY STYLES

Harry Styles' debut single as a solo artist is completely different to the One Direction sound. The Bowie-esque, post-apocalyptic sound gives Styles a more mature image. It's almost six minutes long and builds up gradually, just enough to keep the listener hooked. However, I must admit, I did have to give the song a few listens before agreeing with an opinion.

3. Want You Back - HAIM

Words cannot describe how excited I am that HAIM are back with new music! It has been around four years since their debut album. As a comeback single, it has got just enough of the indie HAIM sound we know with an underlying pop edge.

2. Blackout - FREYA RIDINGS

Blackout is Freya Ridings' debut single and has already made it to Spotify's New Music Friday playlist. The ballad is simple, led by the singer's beautiful piano playing. Her warm vocals, however, are what fill the song. The melody keeps it interesting and shows off her fantastic range. I'm excited for new music from her!

1. Slow Hands - NIALL HORAN

I haven't been too impressed by Niall Horan's solo work. It's nothing we haven't heard before. However, Slow Hands came as a surprise. At least to me. His vocals are huskier and sexier, and the song is his most pop yet. I hope he keeps going in this direction because I am absolutely loving it!

So that's it for April. Don't forget to check the rest of the playlist below, and feel free to follow me on Spotify to see what I'm listening to!
