MUSIC BLOG: LIVERPOOL SOUND CITY FESTIVAL 2017 - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Thursday, 18 May 2017

Author's Note: This post is brought to you by BIMM London. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

NEXT week I will be travelling to Liverpool to do some press at the Liverpool Sound City Festival.  BIMM London is sending six Music Journalism students to work the four-day festival. This year they are celebrating their tenth year with a fantastic lineup that includes headliners The Kooks, Metronomy, The Human League and John Cale. Before I get into it, here's a playlist I made with some of the best tunes by this year's acts!

VISITING ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS

Thursday, 13 April 2017

A few weeks ago, on February 22nd to be exact, I got the golden opportunity to visit the legendary Abbey Road Studios. My University chose a few of us to spend an afternoon exploring the Studios and seeing it at work. This is everything that I took from it.

MUSIC BLOG: MARCH FAVOURITES (2017)

Friday, 7 April 2017

MARCH has proven to be a fantastic month for music. So far, it’s my biggest playlist with 29 songs you should definitely check out. It includes established artists such as Ed Sheeran and completely new artists like BIMM’s Andrea Di Giovanni. It was tough to choose five to feature in the post. I made sure they don’t feature any artists I featured last month. Here we go…

SO far, 2017 has been rather good when it comes to new music. We've had Katy Perry's comeback with Chained To The Rhythm and Ed Sheeran's Divide album which dropped today! It's all been good thus far. My February Favourites playlist isn't exactly full of new releases. Some I discovered and others I went back to. Here are my Top 5, in no particular order!

PERSONAL: HOW ONE GIG PUT EVERYTHING INTO PERSPECTIVE

Saturday, 18 February 2017

LAST night I had the opportunity to attend Gabrielle Aplin's gig at The Jazz Cafe. I basically hit two birds with one stone - finally watching an artist I've looked up to for years, and experiencing music at this historic venue. However, despite having attended quite a few gigs, the emotions I experienced last evening were foreign. Gabrielle Aplin's gig helped me reassess my situation and was inspiring on a new level - this post is going to quickly explain how.

MUSIC BLOG: JANUARY FAVOURITES (2017)

Saturday, 11 February 2017

GOOD news - Monthly Music Blog is back and this time for good! After some time off,  I managed to plan out a lot for this blog, and one is the return of this tiny series which I love. Despite the fact that I'll be publishing a new blog just about music, I thought I'd leave this for Fearless Heaven just because it's more personal.

Anyway, let's cut to the chase. I've put together a playlist on Spotify with 25 songs I enjoyed listening to in January. This post will feature (in no particular order) five of those songs in a bit more detail. It was so tough to choose only five but take a look below.

HOW I ACTUALLY FEEL ABOUT NOT GRADUATING "ON TIME"

Saturday, 12 November 2016

ALMOST everyone I know from back home is graduating at some point this year. They have either finished a three-year degree course and gone out into the working world or they're doing their Masters. Had I not dropped out of University and moved to London, I'd be on my fourth and final year of my degree, and graduating with a BA this year. Instead I have just started a degree. A few people have been wondering how I'm finding it: seeing everyone else settle into adult life whilst I've only just started a new student experience at 21. So I've decided to make use of my blog to write exactly how I feel.
